Mikhail Varlaamovich Bolshakov — artist, book designer. Born in 1923 in the village of Dmitrovskoe (Moscow Region). Studied at the Moscow Polygraphic Institute (1946–1951) under A. D. Goncharov. Designed books for the publishing houses Molodaya gvardiya (Young guard), Goslitizdat (The State Literature Publishing House), Geografgiz (The State Publishing House of Geographical Literature), and others.
